Mindfulness is the practice of opening heart to the present moment, through the cultivation of presence and compassion. This course offers experiential training aimed at developing skills to control physical and emotional distress and to cultivate positive mental states.
Program
Week 1 – Attention and Compassion
Longing for happiness and embracing distress.
· Meditation: Attention to breathing with compassion.
Week 2 - Stop to judge
Observing without judging: who am I?
· Meditation: Attention to breathing with nose.
Week 3 - The conscious experience of emotions
Basic emotions and emotional balance. Experience: address and symbolize.
· Meditation: Attention to breathing with abdomen.
Week 4 - Reducing Stress
The reactive cycle of stress. The narrative self and the experiential self.
· Meditation: Attention to the body sensations focused on the breathing.
Week 5 - Self-compassion
The inner child: what do I need? Soothing touch and self-compassionate phrases.
· Meditation: Non-selective attention.
Week 6 - Compassionate Communication
Empathy: what do you need? Speak from the heart and listen deeply.
· Meditation: Exploration of the body with self-compassion.
- Day of intensive practice.
Week 7 - Acting with conscience
The path of mindfulness: learning to respond without reacting.
· Meditation: Cultivate positive mental states.
Week 8 - Integrate the practice
Last conclusions. Future vision.
The sessions consist of guided meditations, presentation of theories and group activities.
A daily 30 minutes dedication is required to practice guided meditations.
