Casa Asia and Barcelona City Council host once again the annual East-West Dialogue. This eighth Dialogue is devoted to reflecting on the current world situation, the role played by international institutions, and political leaders and the rules that regulate our systems in a moment of economic crisis and political and social response. In summary, it is focused on global governance.
This platform gives voice to a wide variety of actors from both sides in order to complement different visions of a reality which affects us equally. Topics such as governance, economy, the financial crisis, globalization and the social movements which have emerged from the current situation of crisis will be analyzed, and proposals which promote a new structure of the international system of government will be debated.
The Dialogue will place emphasis on the role played by youth, a veritable engine of change in many parts of the world, and women at this moment of change, from a perspective of leadership and political participation and their important role in themes such as the eradication of poverty, conflict resolution and sustainable development.
The East and the West meet in Barcelona to reflect, share, disagree and offer ideas and proposals on the challenges of our present and future.
