Owing to the premiere of the film, Casa Asia will screen the previous film of this Japanese director, Castle in the Sky, carried out in 2004 with the original title Hauru ugoki no shiro. Sophie is the main character of this movie. The story begins when, in one of his walks around the city, Sophie meets the wizard Howl. This is a young man with extraordinary powers and extremely seductive. However, Sophie gets the impression that Howl hides something. The encounter between Sophie and Howl has not been unnoticed for the Witch, who viscerally hates Howl. When Sophie returned to her shop, the Witch, pretends to be a customer, deceives and enchants her, turning it into a 90 year old lady who cannot reveal her true identity. Sophie, unable to tell their friends and colleagues who she really is and what really happened, is forced to leave her home and then decides to search for Howl to help break the spell. Howl lives in a 'magic castle' which has the peculiarity of moving according to her master. Sophie deepens into what's unknown, traveling in search of the castle in the sky, lost in desolate lands. What fabulous destination awaits Sophie? What secrets does Howl hide in her castle in the sky?
Ponyo on a Cliff
Next 24th of April the new animattion film by Hayao Miyazaki will will be released in Spain. Ponyo on a Cliff is a magic adventure about the power of friendship and the power of nature that moves to the big screen the director's particular vision of the story of the Little Mermaid. There, Miyazaki, considered the best Japanese animation director in history, re-created an instant classic for all the public.
Pony on a Cliff tells the story of Sosuke, a five-year old boy, who lives at the top of a cliff overlooking the sea. One morning, while playing on a rocky beach that is beneath his home, he comes accross a colour fish called Ponyo, with its head stuck in a jam jar. Sosuke rescues her and saves her in a green plastic bucket. However, Ponyo's father, Fujimoto, who once was a human and is now a wizard living in the depths of the ocean, forces her to return with him to the depths of the sea.
