1st Display of Korean Cinema of Barcelona
Activity After the success that Korean cinema achieved last year as the "guest country" at the Asia Festival, the Embassy of Korea presents the 1st Display of Korean Cinema in Barcelona from the 12th to the 14th of December 2008. A diplay that would like to become an annual event from this first edition and will have Meliès Cinemas and Casa Asia as its main venues.

· Casa Asia Programme: Free admission, limited capacity.Additional information This is a display with two official headquarters: Méliès cinemas of Barcelona and the Tagore Auditorium of Casa Asia. The official section, made up of 5 titles in 35 mm, will be seen at Meliès cinemas from Friday, 12th to Sunday, 14th of December. At Casa Asia the programme will concentrated on Friday, 12th and Saturday, 13th. There you can see a display of documentaries and short films by the new talents of Korean cinema, as well as the attendance to a film-forum which will include the presence of a Korean director (still to be confirmed).
The opening of the display will include the presentation of one of the most successful and current films of 2008 in South Korea after the holding of the Olympic Games of Beijing. "Forever the Moment", film based on a true story, accounts the odyssey of a group of players of the Olympic selection of handball of South Korea, and its final confrontation during the Olympic Games of Athens. A film that includes the presence of one of the most international Korean actresses, Mun So-ri (awarded with the prize to the best actress at the Festival of Venice 2003).
In addition, the films: "Old Miss Diary", a display by genre of Korean cinema, romantic comedy; the period film "Forbidden Quest", a wonderful style exercise that contains an audacious criticism to society and sexuality during the Joseon period; the first film by the director Hong Sang-su (acknowledged author in the tour of international festivals) which is called: "The Day a Pig Fell into the Well"; and finally "Crying Fist", an exceptional drama that includes the presence of the main star of Oldboy, Choe Min-sik.
