The ninth edition of the Asia Festival, organised by Casa Asia, is held between the 16th and 26th of September in Barcelona. Its broad programme is addressed to all the public, with more than 30 Asian-origin shows and activities, and can be enjoyed in the heart of the city. During these days, Barcelona will approach the Asian continent through diverse disciplines such as theatre, dance, cinema, fashion, sport or gastronomy.

| The jury has decided to award, on the one hand, the project Dunhuang for its enormous task in the recovery, preservation and exhibition of information and images of the manuscripts, paintings and textiles found in the Chinese city of Dunhuang and of the Silk Route. On the other hand, the jury has also awarded the Philippine Senator Angara, for his committment in the strengthening of relations between Spain and the Philippines. |

The starting up of ICB, which aims at spreading the teaching of the Chinese language and culture in Catalonia, is the result of the agreement between the Main Headquarters of the Confucius Institute (Hanban) of China, the University Autonomous of Barcelona, the University of Barcelona and Casa Asia. |
