Exhibition: "China. Portrait of a Country (1949-2008)"
This exhibition gathers file images that document the history of China in the complex historical period that goes from 1949 until the present recovering, this way, the living history of a country through images that have become authentic symbols of history.

Exhibition "Indian Narrative in the 21st Century: Between Memory and History"
This exhibition collects the work of 10 Indian artists (Jitish Kallat, Reena S. Kallat, Nalini Malani, Sheba Chhachhi, Ravinder Reddy, Bharti Kher, Subodh Gupta, Ranbir Kaleka, Shilpa Gupta and Vivan Sundaram) representative of the strategies that dialogue adopts in defence of a new poscolonial identity. "Memory and History" merge with each other, sharing the function of legitimate stories which promote the creation of sceneries dwelled by a "translocal" subject in a global world.

Exhibition "Rong Rong & inri: The Power of Ruins. Between Destruction and Construction"
The exhibition that Casa Asia presents aims at displaying part of the photographic route of the work of the Chinese artist Rong Rong (1968, Zhangzhou, province of Fujian, China), between 2000 and 2008. He is one of the most relevant figures of the avant-gardes of the end of the eighties and beginning of the nineties of last century.

Exhibition "The Disappearance. Crossing the Deserts: From Gobi to Atacama"
The project that is presented is a coproduction of Casa Asia and CDAN (Centre of Art and Nature of Huesca), that Magdalena Correa has carried out in the course of the last two years, after her trip to the Patagonia as a result of which her previous work «Austral» was created. The antecedents must be searched for in the interest the toponymical figure of "desert" and its different variables present for the artist.

Exhibition: "Contemporary Iranian Art Graphics"
This exhibition includes 27 posters of 21 authors. It is the most important particular collection of graphic design from Iran. It belongs to Reza Abedini, which is not just a collector, but also a designer. The works belong to a period that goes from 1970 to 2006 and its authors belong to different generations of designers that have caused progress and transformation of society on the basis of design.

Exhibition: "Projecting Life Indoors"
The Korean artist Kyungwoo Chun and the Spanish artist Ana Laura Alaez will unite for this exhibition hosted by Casa Asia, "Projecting Life Indoors", a display of video and photography conceived in Korea that reflect on the construction of an identity. This exhibition is presented within the framework of the Year of Korea in Spain and of an Asia Festival with this country of East Asia as the guest country.

Exhibition: "The invention of the present"
Six Chinese acknowledged artists representative of the new generations -Liu Zheng, Yan Huang, An Hong, Wang Qingson, Yang Fudong and Zhang Huan- make up this photography exhibition with which Casa Asia opens its delegation at the Palacio Miraflores of Madrid. It consists of a display made up of around fifty works that reveal the large material and social changes of contemporary China that take place from the decade of the 90's, as a result of the expansion of the ideology of consumption and mass culture.

Exhibition: "Parts of a light world"
This exhibition displays a group of 27 poems by the critic, writer and poet Juan Bufill, accompanied by paintings with collage by Masafumi Yamamoto (1947), a Japanese artist established in Barcelona for 35 years who has closed an anthological exhibition of his works, 232 works, at the Yamanashi Museum of Art in Japan.

Exhibition: "Papers from Japan", by Àlex de Fluvià
'Papers from Japan' by Àlex de Fluvià were considered a visual diary by the artist, where the experience of a journey and change are the origin of a semantic collage that have a subsequent continuity in his pictorial work. Àlex de Fluvià originates from a beginning process that leads him to an abstraction model, where difference is produced as an effect of the repetition of a reason, whatever shape it adopts.

Exhibition and documentary series: "Kickin' up dust"
Casa Asia will host the exhibition Kickin' up Dust. Indigenous Australian: identity and diversity cultures, between the local tradition and the "global village". The diversity of aboriginal cultures of current Australia will be displayed through 40 photographs by Peter Eve, Michael Hutchinson, Liberty Seekee, Jillian Mundy, Adam Thompson and Vernon Graham. Parallelly, a documentary series about cultures of Indigenous Australians will be held.

CHIKAKU. Time and memory in Japan
The Japanese word chikaku, made up of two characters: chi (knowledge) and kaku (feeling), represents thought and feeling. This is the title of a display that Japan Foundation and MARCO exhibit in Vigo, in collaboration with Casa Asia; an exhibition that analyses the evolution of Japanese art in the last fifty years through a selection of works of art of 16 artists from different generations with a special approach of three concepts: perception forms, sense of time and memory structures.

Poster exhibition of the Japanese graphic designer Yukiya Takakita
In the framework of the Exchange Year between UE and Japanese citizens, the Japanese graphic designer Yukiya Takakita will present a collection of original posters which will be displayed on the walls and bars of the stairs of Palace Baró de Quadras, Casa Asia Headquarters, on its four floors. The opening event will take place next 10th of March at 8pm. The artist will also attend this event.

The exhibition hall of Casa Asia will show the photography exhibition "Hong Kong" from next Friday the 15th of January until the 13th of February, by the Belgian photographer Jean-Dominique Burton. 38 medium format blank and white pictures depict the author's impressions who travelled to the British ex colony in 2001 for observing the transformation this city had gone through after it had been given back to the Chinese government.

The artist presents the result of three years of creation in Casa Asia, that he divides in two parts.
